Carl Sandburg State Historical Site
The birthplace of Pulitzer-Prize poet and Lincoln biographer Carl Sandburg, the home shows the early life of the master. Behind the home, Remembrance Rock covers his ashes.

Discovery Depot
Provides a hands-on learning experience for children, with interactive exhibits, programs and activities. Great fun, while promoting curiosity, learning and exploration!

National Railroad Hall of Fame

"Old Main" Knox college
The only remaining building that was a site of the Lincoln-Douglas Debates in 1858. Registered as a National Landmark, the building is awe-inspiring and an example of American Gothic Revival Architecture.

Orpheum Theater
Opened as a vaudeville house in 1916, the Orpheum hosted countless stars of the stage and screen. Restored to its original glory, the theater is the center of cultural events-plays, concerts, and more!
